MARQUES 2026

Inventa will be attending the 40th Annual MARQUES Conference, taking place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 22 to 25 September 2026, at the EPIC SANA Lisboa Hotel.

This year's theme, "The Exciting Evolution of Trade Marks," will explore how trade marks are evolving as businesses embrace new ways of using brands and other intellectual property assets to build trust with consumers.

The conference programme will feature plenary sessions on topics including the fine line between fame and genericism, innovative strategies, the role of regulation, the intersection of geographical indications, trade marks and international trade, and the new Digital Product Passport. Attendees will also benefit from updates from the EUIPO, the annual review of CJEU and EU General Court case law, and a series of interactive workshops.

Inês Monteiro Alves, Partner and Attorney at Law at Inventa, will attend this year's conference, where she will have the opportunity to meet and connect with fellow IP professionals.
